ACADEMY GRADUATES GIVE FANS PLENTY TO CHEER
ONE of the brightest shining lights of 2019 for Huddersfield Giants was their academy and the vast array of players that made the step up to Super League.
While the first-team was ravaged with injuries, player after young player stepped up and their performances impressed many supporters, despite results not always going their way.
In Huddersfield’s time of need, as they looked to avoid relegation, Louis Senior scored a hat-trick in the 24-22 victory over Catalans Dragons which secured Super League safety for Giants.
The Claret and Gold will once again be looking to their youth set-up to help put pressure on squad members this new campaign and so, with this in mind, which four youngsters should Giants fans get excited about in 2020?
HUDDERSFIELD celebrated one of its favourite sons on Sunday as Jermaine McGillvary held his testimonial match against Halifax at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Naturally, the winger found himself on the scoresheet and Giants fans got a glimpse of their new signings in action.
They also got to see Jordan Paga, who was included in the squad alongside many other academy stars.
The moment of the game arguably came from Paga, whose try to make it 34-6 to Giants was a sight to behold.
He received the ball and jinked his way through the Halifax defence, threw a dummy which drew two defenders and then nipped past the last Halifax defender to score a wonderful solo try.

JOINING from Leeds Rhinos during the winter, Trout comes to Huddersfield after impressing while on loan at Dewsbury Rams last season.
Making the switch to Giants in a deal that saw Kruise Leeming go the other way, the forward joins up with some familiar faces in the squad.
