Brexit is not over yet, we are not safe from the EU

-

THE new Brexit Day coin will have on the reverse side: “Peace, prosperity and friendship with all nations” That’s good. Just remember, the EU is not included because it isn’t a nation but a federalist dictatorship.

That to one side; there are bear trap issues in PM Johnson’s Withdrawal Agreement.

For what it’s worth, I think there is a sub-plot here that may well be missed by the majority of the ‘plebs.’ It’s funny that this is all coming together as we ‘pretend’ to leave the EU under Johnson’s duplicitous, Withdrawal Agreement.

In order to fall in line we have to give up our complete sovereignty to align with our so-called ‘friends’ across the Channel. Not one European country is safe from the cretinous, unelected, dictatorial European Commission. The plight of the Royals is just another part in this country’s destruction.

We are all to be ‘Europeans’ not British or English with our only direction plotted by the devil himself – Verhofstad... and what are the British going to do about him? We should not yet be enthused.

Join the Holme Valley Lions club

ON behalf of the members of Holme Valley Lions, we would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone in and around the Holme Valley, who came out in fantastic numbers to see us with Santa on his sleigh, both on our village rounds and at the Co-op and Morrisons.

We know that many people are aware of the visits and enjoy bringing children out to meet Santa, and in many places the streets were like a party with so many families around.

We did regrettably have to cancel one of our Honley rounds for safety reasons due to strong winds and rain.

The generosity from everyone was fantastic, and made the event a great success once again financially. The monies raised, of which some have already been distributed, will go to local deserving causes.

To enable us to continue the sleigh and other aspects we now urgently require further members who could bring new fundraising ideas to the club. Please visit our Facebook or website pages for more information.

The Rugby Union not fit for purpose

I CANNOT help but smile at the synthetic hand wringing and teeth gnashing in the Rugby Union ranks as if the situation with Saracens is anything new.

For more than 100 years there has been dishonesty in Union, such as money in boots in a supposedly amateur game, and this in an organisation which brought about the birth of Rugby League as Northern clubs were not allowed to pay players for “broken time” off work.

It’s bad enough in this country but it’s been even worse across the channel, where the French Union hopped into bed with the Vichy Government to all but destroy the French Rugby League.

Truly, the whole edifice on which Rugby Union is built shows it not a sport fit for purpose in this day and age.

Build two statues to Boris Johnson

WITH regards to what should be built on Castle Hill.

Now we are coming out of Europe why not build two statues of Boris Johnson up there?

One showing him pointing to Europe with a tear in his eye and the other pointing to America, our new benefactor.

This would be better than spending half a million pounds on listening to Big Ben chime.

Would B. Sheerman approve?
