A SUSPECTED drink driver was caught after driving into a McDonald’s where two traffic cops were parked up.

A member of the public reported the driver to police because of the manner of his driving in Brighouse.

Roads policing officer PC Claire Gray said: “Probably not the best idea he ever had to drive into McDonald’s where two traffic cars were parked.”

The man failed the roadside breath test and was arrested.

It was the second suspected drink driver arrested by PC Gray in the early hours of Sunday.

She tweeted a photo of a blue Skoda with an ‘L’ sticker on the bonnet which was stopped in Bradford and said: “Second drink driver of the night for me .... the driver of this car was also an unsupervised learner so the vehicle has been #seizedbygray and the driver arrested.”

Meanwhile, in Heckmondwike, police arrested a woman suspected of drinking and driving after a car failed to stop and crashed with another vehicle after swerving into oncoming traffic.

A member of the public followed the VW Beetle driver home where she was arrested and providing a roadside breath test sample of 121 – three times over the legal limit of 35.

Batley and Spen Police posted a photo of the VW Beetle on the division’s Facebook page.

The post said: “Female driver on her way to custody after failing to stop, after swerving into oncoming traffic and colliding with another vehicle in the Heckmondwike area.

“A member of the public followed the driver home where she was arrested after providing a roadside breath sample of 121!! Over 3 times the legal limit of 35.”
