Rowe determined to help club avoid drop
EMILE Smith Rowe says he’s fully focused on helping Town achieve Championship safety before thinking about his future.
The Arsenal loanee has made a big impression at the John Smith’s Stadium and will be a key player for manager Danny Cowley.
Cowley has beamed at the suggestion his talented 19-year-old acquisition might stay on next season, while acknowledging the decision is entirely Arsenal’s. Smith Rowe is very highly thought of at the Emirates, where Mikel Arteta is planning a late surge on the top-five placings in the Premier League and the player says he isn’t looking beyond the next few months.
“I want to help the team to get as high up the table as possible,” Smith Rowe said.
“On a personal level, I want to get as many goals and assists as I can because I think that stats are important, but if I can help the team to achieve their goals then that will be great for me.
“The main focus for me is finishing the season strongly for Huddersfield.
“The club in general have given me a great experience so far and I’m really happy to be here.”
Smith Rowe says he ‘can’t thank him enough’ when asked about Cowley and the opportunity he’s been handed in blue and white stripes. So what of the future?
“Obviously I’ll go back to Arsenal in pre-season and, hopefully, I can prove to the manager that I can play for the club in pre-season,” he added.
“The focus now is just finishing the season and then we’ll see what happens.”
