Fixtures affected by outbreak of coronavirus
THE announcement all English football fixtures until April 3, at the earliest, will be suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak will affect three Town games as it stands.
Postponed are the home clash with Wigan Athletic tomorrow, Wednesday’s Championship trip to Nottingham Forest and the following Saturday away-day against Birmingham City.
Those are all vital matches in Town’s Championship survival battle, with the Terriers’ next scheduled fixture the home clash with Preston North End at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, April 4.
Football authorities are expected to review their decision before then to see if an April 4 resumption is possible as the pandemic continues.
In addition to the senior team being out of action, Town’s Elite Development Team and age-group sides are also not allowed to play games.
The EDT team were in Scotland ready to play Celtic at their Lennoxtown Training Centre, but the game was called off just hours before kick-off.
