Sky and BT say no plans for refunds

- By STEVEN CHICKEN @examinerHTAFC

SKY Sports and BT will not be offering customers a refund on their subscriptions at this time, despite the Premier League and EFL suspending all matches until the start of April.

It is understood that at this stage given that there have only been a small number of fixtures postponed so far across various competitions, the broadcasters have no plans to compensate subscribers.

If the football season does restart on the first week of April as planned, Huddersfield Town are supposed to be taking on Preston North End that day.

The broadcasters’ current position is that there will only be two weekends of club football affected, with the planned March international break limiting the amount of domestic games that have been postponed.

It has been confirmed that both companies will not be refunding subscribers.

“Sky Sports is working closely with all our partners to better understand the impact on the annual sporting calendar,” said Sky Sports’ managing director Rob Webster.

“We recognise that it is a fast-moving situation and we are working at speed to ensure we continue to deliver for all of our customers. A number of sporting events have been postponed, but not cancelled, so we expect to be able to show these when they are rescheduled.

“Therefore, our live schedule is likely to look different for a period of time. As more information becomes available, we will continue to provide updates to all of our customers.”

WITH the Championship campaign suspended, the exact time of when the next transfer window will open is very much up in the air.

However, there are several Huddersfield Town players who will be at the centre of discussions and debates whenever it happens...
