Terriers to train during lockdown
THINGS have been relatively business as usual for manager Danny Cowley at the Huddersfield Town training ground, PPG Canalside.
The club decided the squad would train through the coronavirus lockdown with the aim of being ready to return to action against Preston North End on April 4.
Cowley planned a three-day break from the normal routine to take in Saturday, Sunday and Monday - with the players now having returned to their Leeds Road base.
PPG Canalside is closed to all non-essential visitors and the club have confirmed they have a clean bill of health among the squad and staff - with no-one showing symptoms of the virus.
While the senior squad were not in for training over the weekend, players with knocks were at the training ground for their scheduled checks, treatment and fitness work.
One of those was key midfielder Jonathan Hogg, who had been sidelined before the virus suspension by a knee ligament injury.
The 31-year-old is determined to get back fit as quickly as possible.
Before Town’s last match at Leeds United, boss Cowley revealed: “He has ligament injury on outside of his knee.
“We were worried initially, but we now know it’s improved a lot since he did it and hopefully he won’t be too long.”
Cowley added: “You always miss a player like Hoggy. He is a warrior, a fighter and carries the DNA of the club in his blood.”
