Mou ups his game with video highlights show

Bantams and, while they were relegated from League One, he ‘took learning,’ to paraphrase Cowley, from every game he played.

He made a big impression, too, on supporters and team-mates alike and, following their own relegation from the Premier League, Town were keen to promote his Championship chances under new head coach Jan Siewert.

While Siewert didn’t last long this season, O’Brien certainly has.

His energetic performances have not only helped galvanise Town’s climb from the depths of relegation trouble to a position where they can challenge strongly for safety, but they have marked him out as a potential target for other clubs.

No wonder Town were keen to tie O’Brien to a deal until 2022 – and add in the option of a club extension for a further year.

Cowley recognises the never-saydie attitude, the fearlessness he shows in a tackle and the clever playmaking which is giving teammates a lift.

There’s no doubt O’Brien is a strong contender for Player of the Year – even if there won’t be a ceremony at which to collect the accolade – and his current status in the side brings with it another challenge.

Can he maintain this form next season?

All indicators suggest there is no reason to believe he can’t.

LIKE many members of the public, footballers up and down the country are self-isolating due to the coronavirus-enforced suspension of all games.

And now Town’s Steve Mounie has given fans a glimpse into the life of a player during the lockdown.

The striker filmed two short clips that edit together his activities during a housebound day recently.

Huddersfield are now not due to play again until April 30 at the very earliest with all football suspended until then in a bid to stop the spread of the virus.

But that date may be put back even further, depending on further guidance that is being considered by the game’s lawmakers and the government. In the video, French striker Mounie said: “It’s a weird situation and has never happened before for us and with no job to be fair.

“We have to stay at home and do some house things, so that’s what I’m going to do!”

The video then flashes forward to Mounie sipping on some apple juice to start the day.

“To start the day it’s perfect.

Especially when I don’t have training I don’t like to have some big breakfast,” he said.

From the kitchen Mounie goes on to laundry duties: “We have to do this kind of stuff as well – we are normal humans,” before working on his fitness with some gym work.

After his fitness routine, Mounie then finishes off with some dancing before heading off for a shower. Same again tomorrow Steve?
