TOWN ON THE TELLY

ALL TERRIERS MATCHES TO BE SCREENED LIVE

-

HUDDERSFIELD Town Season Card holders will be able to watch all the Terriers’ remaining Championship games live this season.

Danny Cowley’s men have nine league games left in a bid to retain their place in the second tier.

The season is due to restart on June 20, with all matches being played behind closed doors. And the EFL have now confirmed the last round of games will be on July 21 or 22.

The fixture list is being finalised, with kick-off slots of 6pm and

8pm on a Friday, 12.30pm, 3pm and 5pm on Saturdays, noon on Sunday and at 5pm, 6pm and 8pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Sky Sports will televise 30 of the 108 Championship matches scheduled to be played plus the 15 play-off matches across the three EFL divisions.

All of Town’s matches - home and away - will be shown live on iFollow HTAFC, free to Season Card holders.

Non-Season Card holders will be able to watch for £10 per game.

For those with Season Cards who don’t want to watch the games, a pro-rata refund is available, say Town.

Sky will select their TV games once the fixture list is finalised.

The EFL said the deal had been agreed as part of a settlement with Sky following the suspension of the season in March, and has ‘limited financial impact’ on the existing arrangement with the broadcaster.

EFL chairman Rick Parry said: “There is no question that

Covid-19 has detrimentally affected all industries and, whilst we have only ever wanted to return when it is safe to do, we have always understood that when we did, we had to balance the requirements of our broadcast partners with the unique and challenging financial circumstances that our clubs face.

“We are delighted to have reached such an agreeable and sensible arrangement that ensures the financial impact to clubs is minimised, Sky Sports are able to get their football business back up with one of the most eagerly anticipated Championship run-ins in years and, importantly, fans get access to games during a period where guidelines prevent them from attending in person.”
