Trio warned over Cash rich Forest

- By MEL BOOTH

There’s a trio of huddersfield Town players who will have their hands full against Nottingham Forest – Karlan Grant, harry Toffolo and, when needed, Lewis O’Brien.

They are the players expected to occupy the left side of the pitch for Danny Cowley’s side at the City Ground on sunday.

Many Forest fans would argue the reds possess the best right-hand side combination in the Championship in the excellent Matty Cash and former Town man Joe Lolley.

Cash was selected in the eFL Championship Team of the Week for his performance in the 1-1 draw at sheffield Wednesday on a day when Town crashed 2-0 at home to Wigan Athletic.

The 22-year-old defender, who has been one of Forest’s outstanding performers since being shunted to right-back by boss sabri Lamouchi, played a pivotal role for his side at hillsborough.

It was his clever ball into the path of Lolley which set the winger on his way before unleashing a ferocious effort to put his side ahead.

That strike just 21 minutes from time looked like being enough for Forest to consolidate their place in the play-off places, only for some lax defending to allow Connor Wickham a free header to nod past Brice samba deep into stoppage time earning the Owls a point.

On the return of Championship action, Cash and Lolley simply underlined the form they’ve been showing all season. Lolley, now 27 and a massive favourite at the City Ground, has bagged nine goals in 38 league and cup appearances.

he’ll now be aiming to emulate what another former Town winger did against the Terriers last weekend, by making a scoring appearance off the right wing just like Anthony Pilkington for Wigan.

Meanwhile, Cash has netted three times in 40 appearances this term and has had the Forest fans drooling over his form.
