Luxury hotel has reopened

-

HUDDERSFIELD’S grandest hotel - Bagden Hall - in Scissett has reopened its doors.

The luxurious Victorian hotel which is situated in glorious scenery has been exclusively for key workers since April, and following government advice, it has now opened for bed and breakfast accommodation only.

The restaurant and dining areas remain closed for the time being, with breakfast being delivered to guests’ rooms.

Following deep cleaning of the hotel, additional cleaning and hygiene measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of guests and staff, including increased cleaning of public areas with particular focus on hightouch areas.

Sanitising stations have been installed in key locations in the hotel to allow for regular hand washing and ventilating public areas as much as possible to increase air circulation.

All rooms are being deep cleaned before and after every stay using approved materials and disinfectants, with only dishwasher clean utensils and glasses being used.

Social distancing measures are being catered for with touchless check in/out systems and protective screening in place at the reception desk.

General manager, Caroline Gleeson, says the health and wellbeing of staff and guests remains the top priority.

She said: “It’s great to be able to start welcoming guests back. We have worked extremely hard, to ensure we are able to deliver a clean and safe environment.

Bagden Hall was built by Charles Norton a mill owner, who made his fortune running Nortonthorpe’s weaving mills which supplied yarn to weavers for ‘fancy waistcoat goods’.
