Police probe into sudden death at pub
MAN DIED AT THE CASK IN KIRKHEATON
A MAN has died suddenly at a Kirkheaton pub, police have revealed.
Officers were called to The Cask pub in Town Road by the ambulance service shortly after midday yesterday.
The identity of the man, whose death is not being treated as suspicious, has not yet been revealed.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire
Police said: “We were called to reports of the sudden death of a man at 12.24 by the ambulance service.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances - a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.”
Police officers were guarding the entrances to the pub yesterday, and detectives were seen going door to door at the neighbouring properties close to the pub.
A local worker told the Examiner that he was told something “happened during the night”.
The pub posted on their Facebook page that they will be closed until further notice.
One woman replied saying: “So sorry, my thoughts are with you all at the horrifically sad time. If I can help in any way just drop me a message xx”
