Forward thinking is key to Lewis helping Terriers find the net
DANNY Cowley has a forwardthinking game plan which could result in Lewis O’Brien paving the way to more Town goals.
The 21-year-old looked jaded against Luton (he wasn’t the only one) despite being rested to the bench in the previous match against Reading.
O’Brien returned with a more purposeful 90 minutes in the goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, however, and notably in a more advanced position.
Right from the off he caused Wednesday problems by driving forward with the ball and, with him being more advanced, it made it almost a 4-3-3 formation, with O’Brien playing almost alongside Emile Smith Rowe rather than behind him.
O’Brien completed four dribbles at Hillsborough, which was more than anyone else on the pitch. Against Luton, he completed none.
Cowley explained it was all part of the Hillsborough game plan, and maybe one which, in future, could help prompt more goalscoring opportunities for a team who have failed to find the net in four straight games and 378 minutes of Championship football.
