Cowley: We’re fit and ready for Baggies

-

So it’s a bonus leading scorer Karlan Grant has recovered from a knee injury suffered in the goalless midweek derby draw at Sheffield Wednesday.

Cowley - who keeps injury news close to his chest before any game said there were no other issues affecting selection, especially after using only two of his substitutes (Chris Willock and Fraizer Campbell) at Hillsborough.

“We have been used to a two-day turnaround, and the players are actually reporting they feel better than maybe they did going into the Luton game last week,” revealed the boss, whose team will wear shirts carrying the logo of the Huddersfield Town Foundation.

“That’s good for us, and West Brom have also had a busy schedule with three games in six days so it’s slightly tougher for them than for us. So, hopefully, we can gain an advantage physically there and we need to try and make the most of that.”

So what is the mood in the camp ahead of such an important assignment?

“We are focused on the job in hand as the games come thick and fast,” said Cowley.

“Everyone has been in the building 24/7 and the boys have been enjoying each other’s company.

“There is definitely a spirit of togetherness that is growing and they are fighting hard for each other.”

Does Cowley feel the fixture list has been unkind to Town with West Brom up next and then Millwall away? “They are two games we are looking forward to, for sure,” he said.

“There is a lot for West Brom to play for at the top end of the division and there’s obviously a lot for us to play for. “So it’s a great game for us to be involved in, one we are looking forward to and we accept that we probably go into the game as underdogs.

“But we have done well against teams at the top of the division, so it’s a task we are going to embrace and we are going to try and find a way to get on the right side of it.”

Cowley added: “Our energy is going into what we can control, and
