CARLOS Corberan has penned an open letter to Leeds United fans after leaving the club to take over at Town.

The 37-year-old has finally agreed to terms with the Terriers more than one month after their initial approach to take their top job.

Corberan was offered significantly more money at The John Smith’s Stadium and a chance to take by far the most senior and high-profile role of his career.

The 37-year-old Spaniard succeeds manager Danny Cowley, who was sacked on Sunday just two days after beating West Brom.

Hailing from Valencia, Spain, Corberan holds a UEFA Pro Licence and is known for his strength in coaching having worked alongside Marcelo Bielsa since his arrival in England.

And Corberan has been quick to praise those at Elland Road following news of his exit being confirmed.

He wrote: “I write these lines with pride of having being part of the great family of Leeds United, with the nostalgia of having completed a stage of three unforgettable years in my life and with the illusion of being able to continue developing my passion as a coach.

“My special mention is to one of the people who most dignifies the profession of football coaching: Marcelo Bilesa.

“If it is true that we can all have an impact on each other’s lives, being able to live this experience with Marcelo multiplies this improvement path.”

NEW Town head coach Carlos Corberan has given his first interview as Terriers boss.

Corberan’s arrival as Danny Cowley’s successor was confirmed on Thursday evening and the Spaniard has expressed his delight at taking
