charge at Town having spent the last three years as a coach at Leeds United. He said: “Honestly I’m very happy.

“I’m very pleased to come here and start to work with all the Huddersfield family.

“I’m really happy to come here. “I think sometimes there are opportunities and when the moment is right you have to take advantage of these moments.

“My feeling was that I was a part of (the success) at Leeds and had a commitment there at the club but I felt it was the right moment and the right opportunity to make this step with Huddersfield.

“I trust a lot from the first meeting I had with people here and I was thinking it was the right moment to take this step and take advantage of this opportunity.

“First of all you meet people and they start to make you feel something. From the first time I met with Leigh Bromby I started to feel ‘they have a very clear idea about what they want.’

“There was a positive feeling between us both and when you meet people and start to share ideas and everyone feels the same – I think you are going in the right direction. And when you have one priority and you are talking about one big club, you can feel more excited to do the job and when you feel excited it’s an easier step.”

Speaking about his prior knowledge of Town, he said: “I’ve learned a lot about Huddersfield over the last year and of course I knew about them even before I arrived at Leeds. “England is something special when we talk about football and some clubs are a reference in the fuller world.

“Huddersfield is one of those clubs.

“We played together this year, we shared the same competition and of course you know the club, you know the players, you know the squad, and that’s why I’m pleased to be here.”
