New chief Carlos will run rule over loan stars

TOWN had 10 players out on loan when the season was put on hold in March, and none of those players were permitted to return to action for the final few games of the season.

Head of football operations Leigh Bromby has indicated that Carlos Corberan will assess all of his squad – even those who were out on loan for various reasons – and will assess which of them he wants to work with as he rebuilds he squad.

Nonetheless, there are a few players who Terriers fans would be happier to see come back than others.

As part of our big end-ofseason survey, we asked you if you would like to see each of those ten players back in Corberan’s first-team squad for next season.

Academy prospects Ryan Schofield and Rarmani Edmonds-Green fall into the overwhelming ‘yes’ category: both received over 60 percent support with only 14pc of fans giving a firm ‘no’ in each case. The rest were unsure.

Terence Kongolo was the nextmost popular: more than half of Town fans would be pleased to see the defender come back into the squad after he was ousted by former manager Danny Cowley.

However, almost a third of fans were clear they did not want to see him return.

Fans were split on Josh Koroma and Reece Brown, both of whom received the most votes in the ‘unsure’ category rather than a clear yes or no.

Perhaps the most divisive figure is Florent Hadergjonaj – 35pc of fans think he still has a future at the club, but 43pc disagree.

THE transfer window is open and Town have a specific plan in mind.

They are bidding to create a team to deliver a new playing style under head coach Carlos Corberan, mostly around a 4-3-3 formation.

Hand-in-hand with a 2020-21 drive to move Town up the Championship table is a philosophy to guarantee sustained success in future years.

While the club’s academy set-up has an influential role to play for Corberan, the head coach has the final say on who Town bring in and there’s a clarity on that front which the club believe will reap dividends and cut down on potential errors.

Twelve players were released in the club’s retained list, including the likes of long-serving Elias Kachunga and popular attacker Collin Quaner, while Town triggered one-year contract extensions for goalkeeper Ryan Schofield and right-back Demeaco Duhaney.

The club have since offered first
