Town fans can watch start of a new era

HUDDERSFIELD Town’s first summer signing Danny Ward admits he has never encountered anything quite like training under head coach Carlos Corberan before - and he’s not even got into the full swing of things yet.

Over his 11-year senior career the forward has worked under plenty of managers - Gary Megson, Danny Wilson, Aidy Boothroyd, Lee Clark, Simon Grayson, Mark Robins, Chris Powell, Steve Evans, Neil Redfearn, Neil Warnock, Neil Harris - but the Spaniard offers something entirely new.

Ward’s season only ended three weeks ago as former club Cardiff suffered play-off defeat to Fulham, but he now has just over two weeks to prepare for Town’s first game of the season in the Carabao Cup first round.

He said: “I’ve not really trained that much [with the rest of the group]. I’ve been doing a lot of individual stuff because the lads have been in a weekand-a-half before me.

“But it’s been good. It’s been intense. It’s completely different to anything I’ve been used to, but I’m really, really enjoying it.

HUDDERSFIELD Town have confirmed Carlos Corberan’s first game in charge as head coach will be available to watch live via an online stream.

Tomorrow’s friendly away to sixth-tier Southport will be available to watch free of charge on Town’s official YouTube channel while the EFL’s iFollow service undergoes an update.

The stream will be a pareddown single camera set-up with commentary provided by the club, similar to the ones provided for the pre-season friendlies in Austria last summer.

The club have also confirmed a tweak to their plans for a subsequent friendly against Bradford

City on Wednesday, August 26.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at the John Smith’s Stadium at 7pm as part of a double-header after Corberan’s side face Fleetwood Town at 4pm.

However, for logistical reasons the Bradford game will now be played at PPG Canalside at 6pm instead.

No stream of that game will be available online.

The kick-off time and venue for the game against Joey Barton’s Fleetwood remain unchanged.

Details of what level of coverage we can expect from that games - including whether it will also be available to watch online - will follow in due course.
