New boss looking for some CHEER in Carabao Cup
CARLOS CORBERAN will make his competitive debut as Huddersfield Town‘s head coach on Saturday in the Carabao Cup.
The short trip to Rochdale will provide the Terriers with their first game of the new season under their new boss, who succeeded Danny Cowley in charge of Town in July.
During pre-season, Town’s new head coach has not been afraid to give youth a chance and the Carabao Cup visit to the Crown Oil Arena could see youth being trusted once more with only two summer signings arriving so far.
Ahead of the Terriers’ return to the Carabao Cup this weekend, here is how the club have fared during their last 10 seasons in this competition.
A last-gasp away win at Carlisle United thanks to a late Jordan Rhodes goal put Town into round two, where they were drawn against Premier League opposition.

In round two, it was goals galore once more where Cardiff City beat the Terriers 5-3.
Town took an early bath in the first round of the 2012/13 edition of the competition with a 2-0 defeat away at Preston North End.
The 2013/14 campaign started with home ties in the first two rounds of the competition and it worked in the Terriers’ favour, following up a 2-1 win over Bradford City with a 3-2 triumph against Charlton Athletic. A 1-0 defeat to Hull City in round three would be the end of Town’s run.
Extra-time was needed in the first round of Town’s 2014/15 League Cup campaign, with an additional 30 minutes leading to a 5-3 victory for the Terriers away at Chesterfield that included a hat-trick for 0 Wells.
Town returned to Huddersfield for round two, where they lost 2-0 at home to Nottingham Forest.
Entering round two due to being in the Premier League, a 2-1 win over Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United put the Terriers in round three, where they were beaten 1-0 away at Crystal Palace.
