Pipa on his way – but is Mounie out?

WEST Bromwich Albion’s pursit of Karlan Grant on a permanent deal could have an upside.

While Town boss Carlos Corberan (right) stated that he was keen to keep Grant at the club next season, he admits that there is no guarantee that the exCharlton Athletic forward will still be on the books when the transfer window shuts next month.

At 22 years of age and with two years left on his contract, a player of his goalscoring record will want to be kept ahead of the new season at all costs.

However, if the club received the right offer, selling Grant may not be such a bad idea. It’s a stretch, but hear us out.

Only around 25 players in the Championship’s history have departed the division for a fee of £15m or higher, with most of those coming from clubs that had been immediately relegated from the Premier League.

With the Terriers said to be wanting £16m, whilst the club would be without a prolific

ESPANYOL defender Pipa is reportedly set to undergo a medical at Town today ahead of a £500,000 switch to Yorkshire.

Football Insider are reporting that the versatile right-back, who was first linked with a switch to Town earlier this week, is close to finalising a move to Town from the La Liga side.

Pipa made 13 appearances in all competitions last season for his current club, including seven in Spain’s top-flight and four in the Europa League.

The 22-year-old made his debut for

Spain’s under-21s last year and can play as a full-back, midfielder and winger.

The same outlet are also reporting that Town striker Steve Mounie (below) has reportedly been in talks with Ligue 1 outfit St Etienne over a permanent move to the French side.

Mounie has entered the final year of his contract with the Terriers and the report suggests that Town may consider cashing in on the 25-year-old.

Since arriving at the John Smith’s Stadium for £11m in 2017, the Benin international has scored 19 times in 95 appearances, eight of which came in the Championship last season. 18+, UK only. Place a minimum £10 cash bet treble, four-fold or five-fold, at minimum odds of 4/1 (5.0) or above,
