Corberan facing a striker crisis!

- By STEVEN CHICKEN @examinerHTAFC

JOSH Koroma and Fraizer Campbell will be Huddersfield Town’s only senior striking options against Brentford tomorrow with firstchoice striker Danny Ward out through injury.

The former Cardiff forward missed the Championship opener against Norwich City with a hamstring issue, and head coach Carlos Corberan has confirmed the new signing faces at least one more game on the sidelines when Town run out at Brentford’s new stadium.

Koroma started at No.9 in the 1-0 defeat to the Canaries, with Campbell joining him in attack as a late substitution as the Terriers pushed for an equaliser.

Karlan Grant will continue not to be considered for selection as he is linked with a transfer to West Brom.

Corberan said: “Unfortunately we are not going to have Danny Ward in the squad. Before the previous game he started to feel something in the hamstring.

“We accept this and he has an injury that is going to mean he can’t be with the squad [on Saturday] and in the next days.”

Asked how long Ward will be out, Corberan said: “We don’t know. We need to make another scan next week to know how long exactly it’s going to take.

“He’s not going to be with us in the next game, 100 per cent not, and I don’t know what is going to be the evolution of the injury.

“We will have to see in the next scan how long it’s going to take.

“I think we need to be ready to adapt to any scenarios.

“To lose players to injury is never positive news. We always like to have our squad full with the players making what they want to do.

“But we have to allow for scenarios where this can happen because injuries are part of the possibilities.

“Now, unfortunately, we have him as an injured player and we need to adapt and find a solution like we did in the last game.”

Corberan has not previously ruled out bringing in attacking reinforcements from the transfer market, but he insisted: “We don’t want to make any decision because of an injury, somebody who we just need for a short period of time.

“We want to continue analysing the situation and see if we need to increase the number of strikers or if we can increase the numbers of one player who can give us striker as a second position.

“We are analysing all the possibilities in the market, but we don’t want to just cover one gap.

“If we be sure that the players we add to the squad, if we add some
