What would happen if Royal Infirmary closed?
I WRITE to you regarding the development at Castle Hill.
I understand that the site at Castle Hill is of significant importance to the local community
However, this continued issue must be provided with some final closure in order for everyone to move forward.
I am led to believe that this is currently being reviewed by The Secretary of State.
Given the level of scrutiny being placed on this application, is it the same for similar developments or is this an isolated case?
This development appears to have experienced intense scrutiny not just from individuals and locals but also from professionals commenting on its viability.
There are thousands of people around the town that are now wanting something back at Castle Hill.
I feel it imperative now to all come together and look at ways that some unity can be found in order to work collectively to reach the real ambition that Castle Hill, its users and the whole town so rightly deserves.
JUST a thought – if the Huddersfield CCG get their own way and close the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
What would happen in the case of the pandemic?
Calderdale would not have been able to cope with the necessary beds or life-support machines.
There are more important things to consider other than the PFI debt of Calderdale Hospital.
Just think about the chaos. about a wider range of topics, to avoid the stultifying level the letters page had reached?
My next letter will be on an entirely different matter.
Perhaps Mr Charlesworth could follow suit, and I restate my previous challenge to him – to present an interesting, original letter devoid of any reference to other correspondents. that it is ok to use the paper to vent their political hatred of another political party.
Obviously their opinion is not open to debate as their opinion is not a debatable option when you are never wrong.
May I suggest to the gentleman that he stands as a Labour party representative at local level or place his name down as a parliamentary candidate.
Or even as an Examiner columnist. But please, for heaven’s sake, give it a rest. You do yourself no service.
In fact, quite the opposite, but this will fall on deaf ears.
