Town pin hopes on swift return for Schindler

CARLOS Corberan will once again be forced to make changes to his Terriers line-up against Cardiff City this evening.

Richard Stearman is set to miss out with the hamstring injury he picked up in the first half of Huddersfield Town’s 3-2 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday, but captain Christopher Schindler will hopefully be available to replace him subject

to passing a concussion examination that was carried out on Monday morning.

Cardiff boss Neil Harris has recently favoured a 4-4-2 having started the season in a 4-2-3-1, which should mean that the Terriers revert to three at the back to deal with the two centre forwards.

Jonathan Hogg could drop back in there to make up the three, as he has done previously.

But Corberan has not been averse to using three out-and-out centrebacks before either, opening up the possibility of Rarmani EdmondsGreen making his first start of the season after impressing as Stearman’s replacement against Boro.

That would necessitate Alex Vallejo coming into the matchday squad for the first time this season as cover.

Though primarily signed to play as a number 6, he is also capable of playing at centre-back.

It also allows the midfield three of Hogg, Carel Eiting and Lewis O’Brien to remain intact with Harry Toffolo at left wing-back.

The other flank poses a question with Pipa still sidelined. Juninho Bacuna has filled in at right-back recently but proved unreliable against Middlesbrough and was replaced by Demeaco Duhaney in the second half. However, we’ve also seen Mbenza play at wing-back before – most recently at Stoke – and we’re going to tentatively put him in that role again in our predicted lineup.

Josh Koroma’s performance against Middlesbrough surely means he keeps his place, leaving Fraizer
