‘Important injury’ blow for Koroma
Town head coach Carlos Corberan.
“It’s an important injury, the tearing of a hamstring.
“I am always sad when we lose a player because I know how important it is for them to be in a good condition. Koroma has been one of the important players this year.
“It’s a negative for the player, and a player we now have to manage.”
Koroma has been one of Huddersfield’s standout performers and is their topscorer.
But Corberan refused to be drawn on talk over the possibility of Town bringing a replacement in for Koroma when the transfer window reopens next month.
He said: “We need to be focused right now on the players’ that can replace Koroma, who has been performing at the right level to be in the first team.
“Our only target is to focus on the players that can replace him in the best conditions.
“Fortunately, we have players’ in the squad that

have played in this position like [Junior] Bacuna and Adama Diakhaby, or Matt Daly.
“We also have the possibility of playing with a striker out wide. It’s another option for us.
“We have to be focused on developing every player. The only specific winger that we have to play in this position for me is Adama but, at the same time, we know he feels more comfortable playing on the right side.
“[Isaac] Mbenza has showed a fantastic level on the right side so to play Adama on the right we would have to move Mbenza to the left so these are all the things we have to evaluate right now to see what is best for the team.”
