Some top tips for waste
A POST-CHRISTMAS trip to a household waste recycling centre is something of British ritual following the madness of Christmas Day.
The recycling centres were forced to close earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the new Tier 3 restrictions left many residents in Kirklees and Calderdale wondering if the same would happen over the festive period.
Thankfully - both Kirklees Council and Calderdale Council household waste recycling centres are open with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
The first day for reopening after Christmas Day is Sunday, December 27 for both Kirklees and Calderdale.
The councils have issued a warning that the queues may be long as Covid-19 safety precautions are still in place. They advise to only visit if you really need to.
As sites are particularly busy during this time it is advised to arrive at least an hour before closing time to avoid being turned away.
