TEMPT TOWN BOSS CORBERAN INTO MARKET

LONG-TERM INJURIES TO KEY PLAYERS COULD

-

course, we know that we lost two centre-backs during this part of the year and we lost Koroma too, one of the wingers.

“But always one of the positive things for me with the squad right now is that we have players that can cover these positions.

“For example as a winger we know that Koroma was playing a lot of minutes, but [Juninho] Bacuna has played that position too, [Isaac] Mbenza can play on the left side too but we’ve not moved him because we think he’s performed really well on the right side of the attack. Now we are watching [Lewis] O’Brien play this position (left wing) too.

“So the important thing is to continue looking at the alternatives that you have first of all in the squad.”

Speaking more generally about the club’s approach to the January transfer window, Corberan said: “I think as a club we need to first of all analyse very well our squad and analyse very well where are the possibilities in the squad and that the market can give to us.

“So I think we need to make a mix of things: be watching well our squad, be watching well what needs we have, and at the same time be watching well the possibilities in terms of our budget and in term our options we have as a club to add to the squad.

“Every player we analyse has to be someone who can help improve the level of the team.”

Town have already announced their first signing of the window with forward Danny Grant soon to arrive from Irish side Bohemians, but fans will have to wait for their first chance to see their new man in action for the Terriers.

Corberan explained: “He’s not going to be available now.

“He’s been in [Ireland] over this period of time and he’s started doing some conditioning work that we’ve prepared for him, and some technical work and tactical work to try and adapt him to the fitness level of the team.

“But I think after the Reading game he’ll start training with the group.”
