Agree to disagree - but we all can have our say

-

GREAT letter to the Feedback column from Gina. You hit the spot.

How long it takes Nowt Reet to type out his replies I have no idea.

You can mention my name as often as you like, it will not stop me airing my views on some of the downright nasty letters you and others write.

Your latest pile of detritus regarding my letter is full of facts or fiction?

Most of the people have followed the rules?

If that were the case then virus infections would be low.

Looking in the daily papers does however paint a different picture to following rules.

Or is Boris a Super Spreader? Check the league tables for the highest Covid infections around the world.

Your talk of circuit breaks is pitiful when you think that on the back of Sir Keir’s constant wailing on England to implement a circuit break, Wales decided to take that pathway.

Well we all know how well that worked out.

I understand that you hate the Conservatives and look for any loose thread to tug on but don’t you realise how your letters and replies of others look?

In your opinion only your opinion counts?

Give others a chance to air their opinions without the need to constructively attempt to destroy them with a reply. Your opinion is not necessarily correct or necessary.

This virus needs to be eradicated, if ever it can be.

Maybe you have a constructive idea as to how to go about that.

Ban fireworks

IT saddens me enormously to witness fireworks galore throughout Huddersfield and its just gone 5pm (December 31).

Long evening ahead till midnight after such a trying year with the pandemic.

Do these people that are setting them off realise there will be many people sadly, alone, hearing the bangs? Some of those living alone that suffer anxiety and others that are aged, with possibly a pet for company!

All these pets will we petrified!

I say no more. Ban these awful things and think more of others in these times that are hard for all ages.

The magic three

YOUR brief note (National News, January 1) on Work Skills reported employers demanding communication, flexibility, and problem-solving from staff in 2021.

But this trio seems equally appropriate for 2020, 2019, or even 1066, when Norman soldiers waded ashore near Hastings.

Why stop there?

What about another three, like smart recruitment, userfriendly IT, or a little modesty among the senior management team?

A piecemeal skills-based approach to organisations may miss important underlying historic issues.
