CARLOS Corberan admits the Championship season is relentless as he continues in his bid to keep Huddersfield Town away from the drop zone.

The Terriers face Cardiff

City tonight at the John Smith’s Stadium - their third game in six days.

Injuries are hampering

Town, and life won’t get any easier between now and the end of the season as the games mount up.

“It’s a very hard and tough competition, with the quality of teams and players. It is relentless,” said the Terriers boss. Town face Cardiff tonight with just one win since the turn of the year.

But Corberan says he and the players still believe they can stay up, despite their lack of victories.

“You have to have a selfconfidence,” said Corberan.

“When you know your position in the table, you know how important every result is.

“You have to be focused on what you can control.

“We can control our performances.”

RYAN Schofield has opened up about the scrutiny placed upon him this season, particularly from fans on social media.

The Huddersfield Town goalkeeper has come in for criticism from some supporters after a high-profile error against Watford, as well as some shaky performances between the sticks. Indeed, during the midweek draw with Birmingham some fans pinned the blame for conceding an equaliser on Schofield, despite a clutch of Town players failing to deal with a corner sufficiently.

There have been calls for Terriers boss Carlos Corberan to give Schofield time out of the limelight, but the Spaniard has kept faith with the academy product.

Tonight’s Championship match against Cardiff will be his 17th straight league start.
