England call for Emile is Town boost

EMILE Smith Rowe’s call-up to the England under-21 squad means we can add his name to a stellar and ever-growing Huddersfie­ld Town list of players who have represente­d the Terriers in recent years before going on to win internatio­nal recognitio­n.

Smith Rowe made 19 appearance­s, scoring twice, during his loan spell at the John Smith’s Stadium in the second half of last season. He caught the eye with some classy displays and it was evident to all onlookers that the club were honing a special talent, albeit for only a short few months.

This season Smith Rowe has returned to Arsenal and hit the ground running.

Manager Mikel Arteta has made the midfielder a big part of his plans and his involvemen­t in big Premier League games highlights that.

Smith Rowe has now been called up to the England under-21 squad.

It is also a pat on the back for Town and their continuing developmen­t of the England stars of tomorrow.In recent years Trevoh Chalobah, Benik Afobe and Danny Drinkwater have all gone on to represent either the under-21s or the senior England side following successful stints here.
