Green Party not backing up their bold headlines

-

RECENTLY I received a Green party leaflet for the Kirkburton ward. “Actions speak louder than words”, is their headline-grabbing slogan.

After reading the entire piece I came to the conclusion that the Green party has done virtually nothing in the ward and their leaflet contains the usual mud slinging propaganda.

The candidate sits on the Parish Council and most if not all of their leaflet is based around their candidate voting at Parish Council committee meetings.

The content of the leaflet may not be a lie, but it is far from the truth of what has been happening.

Many people, myself included, have raised concerns with the police and Kirklees council over fly tipping and speeding motorists.

These actions can be taken by anyone, you don’t have to be a prospective Council candidate. People living in the Kirkburton Parish should take an interest in Parish Council meetings.

Misquoted on Brexit

MR. Schofield’s latest letter

from wonderland demands “relevant answers” to his questions.

The first was so bizarre he might just as well have asked, if I knew the difference between a unicorn and a mermaid!

His second question is about facts “get your facts right” that begs a subtle question, what is a fact?

The fact is Mr. Schofield mis-quotes my reply to his letter.

To help him understand, I will refer to his first letter on April 2 – he attempted to argue that January’s dreadful trade figures were nothing to do with Brexit.

I suggest he Googles The Observer 7th February, “Hauliers association (fury at Gove) as exports between the U.K. and EU are slashed by 68%”.

In isolation any fact is useless, the article in The Observer details the actual issues faced by companies exporting and importing.

Those companies don’t care nor does it matter to them if exports fell by 40% or TRADE fell by 60%, they just want the mess created by Brexit sorted out!
