Carlos: It’s all down to us to stay up!

HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Carlos Corberan is thankful his side’s Championship survival is still in their hands.

Terriers enter today’s match at Nottingham Forest just five points above the Championship relegation zone.

Corberan’s side have 44 points but have played two more games than third-bottom Rotherham. A victory at the City Ground would extend that to eight before Paul Warne’s side face Birmingham tomorrow.

Given Town also have a game against fellow strugglers Coventry before the season is out, they know that if they do go down it will be because they have failed to hold up their side of the bargain.

Corberan admits he didn’t watch

Thursday night’s clash between the Millers and Sky Blues - a game Coventry edged 1-0 - but is fully aware of the situation at the wrong end of the table.

“Everyone is looking at results. It’s normal,” the Spaniard said.

“But I didn’t watch Rotherham v Coventry. I’m 100 per cent focused on this game against Nottingham Forest.

“It will be interesting because we have to play Coventry of course. But for now, my full concentration is on Nottingham Forest.

“When you play in the Championship, you follow the results of course. But my players have to use the time to recover and repair well to arrive well in a condition and be at 100 per cent.

“We are in a fortunate position where we have our future in our hands.

“When you have this option what you need to do always is protect this option. We’ll try to add as many points as we can because it’s in our hands right now.”

Corberan, meanwhile, is looking forward to having Josh Koroma back for Town’s run-in.

The winger was in fine form before he sustained a hamstring injury in early December.

Remarkably, his six goals means he is still only one behind top scorer Fraizer Campbell. That is despite having missed the past 24 league games.

Koroma played half-an-hour for Town’s B team on Wednesday afternoon and Corberan says he is happy to be able to call upon the 22-yearold once again.

“He played for the B team the other day so he is available tomorrow,” Corberan said yesterday.

“He had a good first half of the season. It’s about how he feels physically and then making an evaluation of how he feels and is managing the minutes.

“It’s positive to see him playing again. We know he was out for a long time.

“We know how important he was at the beginning of the year. He was scoring the goals for the team.

“We can now consider him for the last part of the season, because it’s clear if he didn’t do the work he did at the beginning of the season then nobody would be saying ‘Where’s Josh Koroma?’

“But he had a very good impact and now has a chance to make some minutes. He’ll travel with the team.”

Corberan also confirmed Spanish defender Pipa, who was an unused substitute in the midweek loss to Bournemouth, is also back in contention.

However, there was less positive
