Prime Minister on ropes over Greensill debacle...

-

ORDINARY news has been paused somewhat due to the sad news of the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.

However the rumblings of the Greensill debacle continue to grow apace despite the government hoping to bury bad news within the continued royal reporting.

These dual roles enjoyed by

Prime Ministers, Ministers, MPs and Civil Servants need to be regulated and registered. Who knows how many contracts have been lavishly handed out willy nilly unknown to the unsuspecting public?

At last weeks PMQs Keir Starmer had Boris Johnson on the ropes with his questioning over David

Cameron and Greensill. Johnson stuttered and spluttered his evasion. This led to the Speaker telling the PM to answer the question!

There are indeed many questions to be answered but what is needed is an urgent inquiry and an immediate overall of this rotten system - otherwise we run the risk of becoming a ridiculous banana republic!

Another fairy tale

ANOTHER fairy tale from Mr Martin

Charlesworth he claims he was misquoted by my letter

Is he so obsessed with Alice in Wonderland, he cannot even get my question right? My question asked if he knew the difference between billions and percentages, and if so, could he explain why he stated UK exports to the EU fell by 60 per cent in January 2021?

Once again no relevant answer, I am still waiting. Secondly “Get your facts right” was not a question, it was a statement. To underline his confusion, he then waffles on that “in isolation a fact is useless”.

What absolute nonsense, not content to dig a hole, he jumps in to it.

Furthermore my letter on April 2 did not argue that January’s dreadful UK export figure to the EU was nothing to do with Brexit, I merely reminded another remainer correspondent, that Covid-19 had affected not only UK exports to the EU, but trading world wide.

The good news is that the ONS February 2021 report for trade between the UK and the EU says it has considerably increased, but has not equalled February 2020. This is a move in the right direction.

Lets hope it continues, saves jobs and gives the UK economy a boost.

Problem with rats

BREAD chucked in for the ducks to feed now floats amid the water weed at Greenhead duck pond.

The ducks and drakes have had enough but then arrives another loaf. With lots of sliced white there to eat, the rats have moved in for the treat.

Perhaps the Pied Piper will come and rid us of our rat problem!
