Have a great blooming day

-

would just like to say that there’s more than one business struggling.

“We have taken the grand total of £2.50 today! I know a lot of other business are struggling just as much and would appreciate a little visit.

“It would be nice to spread the support around as we are not funded or supported by a higher being, we are grafting for our kids and to make a better life for our families. Also, some of us suffer mental health problems while still grafting and trying. £1 spent in a shop means the world.

“Spread the love around the local community and we will all survive this together.”

Emma said: “It was soul-destroying on Wednesday. We had one man come in and buy a cup of coffee and that was it - we were open from 10am-3pm - and just thought: ‘what’s the point?!’

“The day just seemed to get longer and longer.

“But Kara’s post certainly did the trick and yesterday, Thursday, we were really busy so we hope we can keep that momentum going.

“Yesterday it really took off, so many people had seen Kara’s post and wanted to help and we’d just like to thank everyone, it means a lot.

“We haven’t taken a wage from the business since we started in October last year and we’re fortunate in having partners who both work.”

NATURE lovers are being urged to join a national day to celebrate the “joy of blossom” to help boost their sense of well-being.

The National Trust has launched its first #BlossomWatch Day today to encourage people to share their photos on social media of this year’s blossom as it blooms across the country.

The charity is creating an interactive map to chart the progress of the blossom by asking people to tag the location of their photos.

A National Trust spokeswoman said: “As restrictions ease and loved ones can finally start to meet outside, the conservation charity is urging people to use the easing of restrictions to share in one of nature’s most magnificent natural spectacles.

“The recent topsy-turvy weather has given this year’s blossom an uncertain start but it is expected to reach its peak in the coming days and weeks.”

The campaign has already received more than 5.5 million views, with 32,000 posts on social media including celebrities Lauren Laverne, Julia Bradbury and Matt Baker.

Some 45 MPs have pledged to plant a tree in their constituency this coming autumn for more blossom in urban areas.
