Woman’s horror as cat returns ‘SCALPED’

- By NICK LAVIGUEUR nick@examiner.co.uk @grecian9

A FAMILY fear foul play after their beloved cat returned home appearing to have been scalped.

Heidi Cumpson thinks someone has attacked her cat Rhubarb, leaving him with horrific head wounds.

The cat’s injuries have left him with no fur on his head and his flesh and skull showing.

Heidi, who lives in Heckmondwike, suspects a cat-hating resident has poured something on his head.

Rhubarb has been to the vets but they were unsure as to how the injury occurred.

Heidi said she didn’t think the large wound would have been inflicted in a cat fight.

She said: “I noticed it on Monday and I thought ‘What’s the cat been doing now?’ His head was all sticky and crusty.

“I think he’s had something hot poured on his head. It looks like he’s been scalped. It was like someone has cut off a piece of his head. “I think it’s been deliberate. If it was from a fight I would have thought there’d be more small injuries. His head was all infected and the vets have had to operate so he’s now walking about totally bald.”
