Town will want to end home campaign with impressive win
looking to end the season on a high after a miserable last few months that has had the Terriers looking over their shoulder towards the relegation zone.
Thankfully, results elsewhere have done Town a lot of favours, and it would now take a scarcely believable turn of events for them to end up playing League One football next season.
Nevertheless, there are two games left in the campaign and that offers the Terriers a chance to restore a bit of faith ahead of the new season.
IF Town’s safety becomes mathematically guaranteed on Saturday afternoon then it will inevitably be less dramatic than the events of the final home game of last season, when Emile Smith Rowe’s memorable late goal off the bench all but settled things for the Terriers.
It would be nice for the players to be able to coast through the remaining couple of games after a short, arduous campaign that plenty of players and managers have said has felt more like two seasons – and not just those at Town. But there is still pride on the line for Corberan and his side, especially as everyone – staff, fans, and players – could do with a pick-me-up to take into the summer. Both Corberan and Harry Toffolo talked a good game on that front in the pre-match press conference
