AMANDA Owen bit back at critics who questioned her ‘glamorous look’ and said she didn’t look like a stereotypical shepherdess.

The mother-of-nine, who is also known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess was quick to retort to comments that she doesn’t look like a farmer.

The 46-year-old star of Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm responded to comments made on Steph’s Packed Lunch as well as the trolls tat had been bombarding her social media.

She had spoken to presenter Steph McGovern about the popularity of her Channel 5 documentary series but the subject quickly turned to her looks - something which didn’t go unnoticed by Amanda.

Presenter Steph McGovern said: “Throughout it all you stay so glamorous. Which, always, I’m amazed about.”

Amanda looked unimpressed however, saying: “Look at my hands though Steph.

“Honestly, I’ve got iodine up my arm.

“I painted my nails while I was waiting to do this, but I really don’t know why I’ve bothered,” she said.

Amanda pointed out the assumptions made based on a person’s looks.

She continued: “Yes we don’t like stereotypes. I think that’s the thing - you know.

“I mean yes I’ve got a sheepdog, yes I’ve got a crook.

“Yes I spend my time running around after sheep, but I can do other things too.”

Amanda told Steph that she didn’t want to dwell on these assumptions and stereotypes, as she explained: “I think that’s the name of the game to be able to turn your hand to whatever comes your way.”

Fans loved seeing the heartwarming snap Amanda had shared this week, of the entire Owen family settling down to watch their show.

She commented: “”I don’t think you can ever get used to this.” and fans didn’t hesitate to respond.

A fan wrote: “You’re all amazing! A lovely family with great values and a joy to watch.

“My son and I love the show and each series makes us want a farm of our own even more.”

Yes I spend my time running around after sheep, but I can do

other things too
