CARLOS KEEN TO ACT FAST ON SIGNINGS

- By CHRIS OSTICK

CARLOS Corberan is keen to get his transfer dealings done early this summer as the Huddersfield Town boss aims to quickly put this season behind him.

The Terriers close their campaign away to Reading today knowing they will finish in the bottom six after another relegation fight.

Town are already expected to bring back Jordan Rhodes from Sheffield Wednesday to start the rebuilding.

And they have also been linked with a move for Flamengo starlet Lazaro, although the Examiner understands reports that talks for the Brazilian are at an advanced stage are inaccurate.

Town are expected to be active in the transfer window, though, and want to add more depth to Corberan’s squad after injuries left them exposed in the second half of this season. And the club are understood to be keen to get further business done early in the transfer window, which formally opens on June 9 and closes on

August 31, with the new Championship season scheduled to get under way on the weekend of August 7.

But before then, Corberan has to decide who out of the number of players out of contract he wants to keep and who he is happy to release.

And the Town boss says those announcements will be made quickly.

“I think as soon as we finish the season these things are going to be fixed and going to be done,” he said ahead of today’s visit to the Madjeski Stadium.

“It’s very important that every player goes into their holidays knowing exactly what is going to be their future.”
