Pritchard one of 11 to leave Terriers
ROMONEY Crichlow, Juninho Bacuna, Alex Vallejo and Isaac Mbenza have all had their
Terriers contracts extended for another year while negotiations are ongoing with Richard Keogh over a joint player/mentor role.
The Huddersfield Town retained list ahead of what is sure to be busy summer’s recruitment features a further 10 departures alongside Christopher Schindler.
Carel Eiting will return to Ajax and Joel Pereira heads back to Manchester United after their loan spells came to an end.
Carlos Corberan recently said he would like to bring Eiting back
“Fraizer has shown the work ethic and physical ability, at 33, to meet the demands of Carlos’ style of play and is desperate to help Huddersfield Town progress.
He puts high demands on himself and his team-mates and knows what is necessary to be successful in this division.
“It’s important to us to not only have players that meet the highest of standards on the pitch, but also those who care to the club next season, but whether the Dutch giants would be amenable to a deal remains to be seen.
Those on permanent contracts who will leave the club include about the club and are excellent characters in the dressing room. Fraizer is certainly all of these.”
Head coach Carlos Corberan said: “I am very happy that the club has extended Fraizer Campbell’s contract for at least another season.
“He has been an important player for us this season and is a pleasure to work with on the training pitch. He is very open to our ideas, makes the game uncomfortable for defenders, big-money Premier League signing Alex Pritchard, who arrived from Norwich in 2018 but had never been able to find his footing at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Experienced centre-backs Tommy Elphick and Richard Stearman are also leaving but Keogh looks set to stay on as an older head in the dressing room, even if his playing time is reduced.
Left-back Jaden Brown had already jumped the gun on the retained list and Demeaco Duhaney will also exit the club.
Former Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo brings his short spell at the club to an end as does former and has the skills and the mentality to do well.
“Fraizer is a very self-demanding footballer.
“He played many minutes in a row during the season, which shows the attitude and personality he has.
“He is a perfect example to any of our academy players who train or play with the first team and we look forward to working with him again next season.”
Everton forward Oumar Niasse, who never actually played a firstteam game for the club after suffering a season-ending injury just a week after joining as a free agent.
Back-up goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler also leaves without having made an appearance after arriving in January.
