Holme from home as buyers fall for stunning views
BUYERS have moved quickly to snap up luxury homes on a Huddersfield estate boasting stunning views.
All 58 properties on Jones Homes’ Heather View development have now been snapped up following a rise in demand “from buyers seeking to escape to the country.”
The firm said interest in houses on the estate had hugely increased over the past 12 months due to lockdowns brought on by the coronavirus pandemic sparking a “growing appetite” for homes in rural locations.
Among the buyers to have reserved a home on the exclusive estate off Dunford Road in Hade Edge, near Holmfirth, are Joel and Courtney Iveson.
The couple relocated to the village from London in September last year after moving to the UK from South Africa.
Courtney said the pair fell in love with their new home after taking in the amazing views of the surrounding Holme Valley.
“The view completely sold us,” she said. “Our home is right at the edge of the development, which means we can see right out over the countryside and the Boshaw Reservoir. I look out at the view, and I can’t believe that this is our home.
“Since moving in last autumn, we have seen proper snow for the first time, the type that’s heavy and lasts for weeks. We have taken the children to the Peak District and went snow walking and sledging. They’re going to make so many amazing memories here.”
