Lloyd’s Donington ambition
HUDDERSFIELD’S Daniel Lloyd is hoping for a repeat of his recent double podium success at Silverstone as the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship heads to Donington Park circuit for the penultimate meeting of the season.
Fresh from his best-ever BTCC weekend at The Home of British Motorsport just over a week ago – where he scored a second and a third for his Adrian Flux with Power Maxed Racing team, Lloyd is hoping to carry that frontrunning momentum in the second to last race meeting of the year on the historic Donington Park National circuit layout.
“I’m really fired up for
Donington Park. It’s a great circuit, with so much history and the racing is always exciting there,” he said.
“I’m still on a high from the great results at Silverstone. “I just really hope we can carry that momentum through to the end of the season.
“We’re probably going to start with the car in a similar set-up to where we finished up at last time out.
“It certainly worked out well for us with the double podium celebrations.”
This weekend also sees the return of the ‘Top Ten Showdown’ format for today’s qualifying session, where the top-ten placed drivers from Q1 go forward to vie for pole position in a shortened five-minute shoot-out – the very same set-up which kick-started Lloyd’s Silverstone podiumscoring results last time out.
“It’s going to be another busy weekend for us again with lots of sponsors, guests and Daniel Lloyd Racing Club members joining us,” he said.
“Fingers crossed, we can have a repeat performance of our last meeting and collect some more silverware.”
