DETECTIVES investigating a stabbing on a Huddersfield estate have made three more arrests.

Two young men aged 18 and 19 are currently in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of affray, and a 26-year-old man is also in custody after being arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent.

The arrests relate to an investigation into the stabbing of a 19-yearold man during a night of violence on Fanny Moor Crescent in the Lowerhouses area.

Armed officers cordoned off the street following reports of disorder on Bonfire Night. West Yorkshire Police said the 19-year-old victim received “significant but not lifethreatening injuries” in the attack which took place at about 9.33pm on Friday, November 5.

Officers attended reports of clashes involving men armed with weapons when they found the 19-year-old with a serious injury to his hand.

Two men, aged 21 and 50, previously arrested on suspicion of affray, have now been released on police bail.

The night of disorder saw a window smashed at a house in Fanny Moor Crescent and a firework thrown into the property.

The smashed window was reported around 3.25am the following day and at 6.18am a firework was thrown into the same address.

Violence on the estate left residents feeling frightened for their children. One woman said: “I have lived here all my life. It (trouble) has gone to a different level now. People are angry and scared for their kids.”
