Ward hails united Town as best he has known

DANNY Ward is enjoying life this season in a Huddersfield Town shirt and puts the current squad’s togetherness up there with any he’s been a part of.

“It’s just a good set of lads. I’ve been in a lot of dressing rooms now and this is one of the best I’ve been in,” said the Terriers striker (pictured).

“Everyone’s together, everyone’s pulling for each other, and even off the pitch we’re socialising together and stuff - it’s a real good place to be.”

With players in the middle of a two week international break, Ward revealed it’s a good time for those not away with their country to spend some time bonding.

He added: “Quite a few of us play golf, we’ve been out for meals. It’s little things like that I’ve found in my career really help.”

Town have enjoyed a better start to this season after a turbulent second half to the last, but Ward is not getting carried away with a top-half position in the Championship.

“Obviously, we take it one game at a time and we focus on each individual game, but everyone looks at the table and likes to see where we’re at,” said Ward.

“When you’re in and around it, then it gives you confidence and it’s a good place to be.

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a sneaky look at the table after each league game... you need to keep focused on that next match because if you do get carried away standards can slip and all the rest of it so you need just stay concentrated on the next game.”

Town will return to domestic football with a home game against West Bromwich Albion on November 20.

HUDDERSFIELD Town had a busy week before the international break and finished waiting on injury news on Duane Holmes and Jonathan Hogg.

On top of those new issues it was clear by the end of Saturday’s game in Cardiff a few members of the Terriers squad looked tired. Three games in eight days had taken its toll and a short rest will do some the power of good.

With that in mind, we thought we’d look through the numbers to see who has played more than 1,000 minutes this season, and who might need to be rested or rotated this month and into December...
