TERRIERS BOSS FULL OF PRAISE FOR ‘SPECIAL PLAYERS’ HOGG AND CAMPBELL
CARLOS Corberan has held Fraizer Campbell and Jonathan Hogg up as an example to the rest of his squad as to the kind of dedication it takes to be a success in the Championship.
The Huddersfield Town duo were both presented with shirts signed by their team-mates and club staff after both recently racked up 400 competitive senior appearances for English clubs.
Campbell’s came as he appeared off the bench in the 1-0 win over Millwall, while Hogg’s came as he started in the 1-1 draw against Peterborough United.
Corberan made the presentation to both players on the training pitch to warm applause from their team-mates. The Town head coach told the group: “One coach that is working in the first division that is my friend, he told me how difficult it is to work in the Championship. Every two days you have a game and you have to think like this.
“And I said to him, ‘yes it’s true: you need to have a special mind to be in the Championship, you need a special mind, a special character’.
“And today the club told me that Campbell has played 400 games in total, and Hoggy number 400 too.
“When they told me how difficult it is to play in the Championship, imagine how challenging it is to achieve 400 games. For the group it’s very special to have two players like you both, being an example and continuing to be helping the team to achieve our target of being a very competitive team. So congratulations to you both because it’s not easy to arrive to this number of games. You are special players and we are happy to have special players with us.”
