HEARTBREAKING tributes have flooded in from all over Yorkshire after the tragic death of much-loved fundraiser Mandy Taylor.

Mandy, 53, from Golcar, had raised more than £2million for charity over the years and was an instrumental part in setting up the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

Earlier this year, she had also launched the #bemoremandy campaign on social media aiming to encourage people to live their lives to the full.

Ever a fighter, she had beaten cancer twice before being diagnosed for a third time, and earlier this year was told her condition was sadly fatal.

She tragically passed away this week, prompting a flood of condolences from all across the county.

Chair of The Piece Hall Sir Roger Marsh said: “It is with much sadness that we learned of the death of our dear ambassador Mandy Taylor.”

“Mandy always brought positivity to everything she was involved in. The Piece Hall was one of her happy places.

“She both inspired us and touched all our hearts.”

ITV newsreader Duncan Wood also expressed his sadness and in a twitter post said: “Desperately sad news this morning that @Charity_Angels has left us. She was such a good soul who put everyone ahead of herself. A proud #Yorkshire lass whose smile lit up a room. Rest well Mandy. #BeMoreMandy”

“The world is a little darker place today. But what I can say is @charitymrst lit every room up that she walked into,” said Katrina Cliffe.

“Our town and so many people in it benefited from Mandy’s drive and tenacity in supporting and lifting others up. We’ll all miss you Mandy.”

Katie Paterson also expressed her sympathies with the message: “Such sad news. She was such a light in dark times. Thoughts are with all her loved ones. RIP.”

ITV newsreader Lisa Adlam also expressed her sadness at Mandy’s passing. In a twitter post she said: “So sorry to read this today. I only met Mandy a couple of times but she was an absolute force of nature. Thoughts and condolences to her family and very many friends. #BeMoreMandy.”

“The world is missing a true angel this morning, Mandy Taylor the most selfless individual I have ever met in my life. The only person who could convince me to star in a fashion show as well as a number of other mad ideas she had for raising money for charity,” added Tom Kenny.

Huddersfield Town also posted: “Everyone at Huddersfield Town is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mandy Taylor.

“Mandy headed up our foundation’s fundraising in its early years, raising thousands of pounds for the work of the foundation.”

“Our thoughts are with Mandy’s family and friends.”
