Ewe can’t come in!
VISITORS ARE BANNED FROM TV SHOW FARM TO LET FAMILY CONCENTRATE ON LAMBING SEASON
THE Owen family has put a temporary ban on visitors to Ravenseat Farm, made famous on their Channel 5 TV show.
From May until October, visitors to Our Yorkshire Farm can usually enjoy cream teas from noon until 4pm - and served by Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen. But, sadly, for the next two months this will not be possible.
In an announcement on the Yorkshire Shepherdess website, Amanda confirmed the closure comes during peak lambing season.
The announcement said: “Sorry Ravenseat is closed for visitors until mid-May.
“We will be busy lambing for the next few weeks so would ask visitors not to come into the farmyard. Please watch the website for notification on when we are open again.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
Lambing season began early for the Owens.
While most mums spent Mother’s Day having breakfast in bed, or being spoilt with gifts and flowers, Amanda spent her day helping one of her sheep give birth.
The lambs which arrived over the weekend aren’t the first. The Owens had an early arrival back in January.
Amanda has told her fans that they aren’t due to start lambing just yet but it seems that the weekend’s birth made for a lovely Mother Day’s gift.
The news of the temporary closure left fans with mixed opinions.
One person said: “I’m hoping to visit end of June for my birthday treat so I hope they will be open.”
Another added: “They will be very busy, it’s lambing time.”
A third said: “Respect their wishes, it’s a working farm and bloody hard work.”
Another added: “I know this beautiful family are very very loved but come on people give them a break, they are so busy at this time of year, respect their wishes.”
