Film critic Mark Kermode and broadcaste­r and movie fanatic Simon Mayo, right, are launching a twice-weekly podcast called Kermode & Mayo’s Take, looking at new film releases and television in the UK and America. Mark says it will “allow us to bicker about movies and TV (and skiffle, obviously) to our hearts’ content”. ■

Caroline Quentin and her daughter Rose, right, are to star in a new production of George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs Warren’s Profession, about a woman who discovers the startling truth about her mother’s business empire. It was written in 1894 but banned for 30 years by Lord Chamberlai­n who found it “immoral and improper”.

The play opens at Theatre Royal Bath on November 9 ahead of a UK tour.

The Strictly Come Dancing stars are coming out to play for the Strictly Come Dancing – The Profession­als tour. Gorka Marquez, right, Kai Widdringto­n, Karen Hauer and Dianne Buswell are among those taking part in the 36-date tour.

Strictly creative director Jason Gilkison says: “These much-loved pros are set to dazzle audiences across the country with two hours of the finest choreograp­hy and dancing.” The tour runs from April 28.
