HUDDERSFIELD Town chief executive Dean Hoyle has called on Terriers fans to get behind the players in any moments of adversity they encounter when taking on Luton Town in their play-off semi-final.

Hoyle, who is currently in the process of buying Phil Hodgkinson’s 75 percent share of the Terriers back from him, knows the clash with the Hatters won’t be easy.

“They need it when we’re up against it and there’s no two ways about it, whatever happens over the next two legs, we will be up against it at some point, and that’s where the fans need to get behind us, and I’m sure they will.

“If we beat Luton then we’re off to Wembley – but let’s be fair, Luton will also fancy their chances, so let the best team win over the two legs.”
