Whatever happens, enjoy this moment

HERE we are, then. With Huddersfield Giants playing in the Challenge Cup final at Tottenham Hotspur’s gaff the day before Town’s play-off final, the capital will become Kirkleeson-Thames throughout the last weekend of May.

Yes, it’s really true. Huddersfield Town are one win away from playing Premier League football again.

But if these two games against Luton Town were an enormous challenge, things are only likely to get even harder at Wembley, regardless of who their opponents are.

Corberan’s side have developed an uncanny knack for getting the job done even when they have not been at their best, but they will likely need to summon another level of performance to get the job done in their final game of the season.

But here’s the thing – there is not a head coach in the country we would trust more to get them ready to do exactly that.

On top of that, the Terriers did not need to call upon Tino Anjorin in either leg of the semifinals, but they now have the benefit of nearly two weeks to get him ready to play a part in the final.

Sorba Thomas worked incredibly hard to be able to play 35 of the 180 minutes against Luton, he could yet get himself fit enough to start on the Championship’s grandest stage.

Matty Pearson, too, could well work his way into contention to return to the back line - though he faces a stern task breaking in ahead of Lees, Hogg, Colwill and Sarr now.

There would be no shame at all in falling agonisingly short now, but Town have a chance - a real, genuine chance - of finishing the season on the ultimate high. These next 12 days are going to feel like eternity. Revel in it.
