Pontefract date for Hullensians
HULLENSIANS welcome Pontefract to Springhead Lane in Yorkshire One tomorrow.
The two sides have only ever met twice in league fixtures before – both in 2014-15 when Huillensians were first promoted to Division One as Pontefract were about to be relegated from it.
In that season, the two sides drew 24-24 in the corresponding home fixture, whilst Pontefract stole a 9-8 victory at their own ground in a game played such appalling conditions that the referee had to take the players off temporarily for their own safety due to torrential rain, sleet and lightning.
This season, having been promoted back to Yorkshire One, Pontefract are currently seventh, with two wins out of three, whilst Hullensians are second from bottom, without a win from their two completed games.
Hullensians skipper, Scott Jackson, is still ruled out with injury, but head coach Darren Booth has several players available again.
