30 dogs rescued from home

-

VIOLET, Tulip, Rose and Daisy are just four of the 30 dogs found in shocking conditions in a Yorkshire home, where they were neglected and interbred.

The crossbreeds were rescued by RSPCA inspectors from a property in West Yorkshire and were brought to the RSPCA branch in Clough Road.

They are now among dozens of other dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets to be cared for at the centre.

Alison Ripley, general manager of Hull and East Yorkshire RSPCA Branch, said: “The dogs were signed over to us after complaints were made by neighbours and all 30 dogs have been distributed to centres around the region.

“The four dogs with us are in an awful condition, with matted fur, as well as injuries and deformities linked with interbreeding.

“It’s evident the owners couldn’t cope with them anymore so now we will be building the dogs’ confidence in order to have them rehomed. They are very scared at the moment.”

The dogs are of mixed breeds including chihuahua, bichon frise and terrier, with many of them suffering rashes and cuts, as well as one of them still so full of milk she needs veterinary attention.

The animals are now being cared for and are undergoing veterinary and behavioural treatment before they are found suitable forever homes.
